CTRL UL101 Leak Detector
The UL101 Leak Detector quickly locates the ultrasound produced by compressed gas and vacuum leaks. Simply aim the leak detector in the direction of the piping and adjust the sensitivity to pinpoint the location of any leak with turbulent flow. The UL101 has the best signal-to-noise ratio and highest sensitivity in the market. Leaks sound like rushing air in the operator's head set, and the gain can be minimized to eliminate all or most ultrasonic "white noise" for an operator-friendly user experience.
Ultrasonic Leak Detection and Condition-Based Monitoring
Traditional methods of leak detection may prove inadequate at addressing certain problems. This is often the case when dealing with inert gases, steam, and refrigeration systems. Understanding the alternatives can be invaluable when time and materials are on the line. The principle of operation is based on detection of ultrasonic sound waves, imperceptible within the range of human hearing, produced by air turbulence caused by extremely small leaks in pressurized systems. Ultrasonic leak detection brings a safe and flexible diagnostic tool to the forefront of today’s available leak detection techniques. Using ultrasonic detectors for leak detection has become an industry standard and is now recommended by the U.S. Department of Energy, NAVSEA, NASA, and many others.

Ultrasonic also adds a new dimension to preventative maintenance and provides a cost-effective condition-based monitoring solution. Avoid unplanned equipment shutdowns or removals by characterizing the ultrasonic profile of any piece of equipment. Ultrasound is produced by electrical discharge, friction, abnormal impacts, and friction. Identifying mechanical and electrical anomalies before failure and prescribing preventative maintenance can significantly reduce the cost of repairs and unscheduled outages.
